MRT

Okay I've been here a year now and I have realized that I haven't really posted much of Taipei and some of the daily things that happen there. If anybody has any requests let me know and I will see what I can do. This post of about the MRT system in Taipei. It's not all that exciting, but if you've never been on a mass transportation train (subway) this will give you an idea of what it's like.
This particular stop is Taipei Main Station on the blue line. It's 12:30 in the morning so the station is not busy at all. During peak hours you will sometimes have to wait for 2 or 3 trains before you can get on and then good luck finding a seat. Main station is a major stop because this is also where you transfer to a different line of the MRT system and it is where all the trains that travel around the island and outlying areas of the city stop.
Also because this is a major hub, there are gates blocking you from the tracks, but only a few of the stations have this. People have a tendency to get pushy when the train arrives in an attempt to be the first on so they probably put up the wall to keep people from getting pushed onto the train. Oh yes. Little old ladies are the worst offenders when it comes to pushing in line. I have been pushed out of the way and elbowed by little 4.5 foot tall ladies that do not apologize.
